COVID-19 POLICY UPDATE

The National Field Hockey League (NFHL) is committed to ensuring the safety of all players, coaches, captains, staff, spectators and volunteers. The NFHL follows guidelines from the CDC and local public health authorities regarding COVID-19. Closer to the event date, more details will be released on specific COVID-19 safety protocols. Please note, that these policies may change and we ask all teams to be flexible – safety is our number one priority. Safety protocols may include:
  • Pre-tournament team check-in (by a captain or coach) to screen for COVID-19 exposure and/or symptoms.
  • Daily on-site self-check in for all staff, players, coaches and spectators to screen for COVID-19 exposure and/or symptoms.
  • Updated mask policies based on guidance from the CDC and local authorities at the time of the event.

If a team is mandated by their Club Sports Department to withdraw from the tournament due to COVID-19 safety restrictions, and it is within the current recommended quarantine/isolation guidelines issued by the CDC and their local authority, the team will receive a $750 credit (the tournament entry fee) to be used at a future NFHL tournaments long as the following requirements are met:
  • The team must immediately contact the NFHL to withdraw from the tournament.
  • If the school has issued a travel restriction, the school’s Club Sports representative must email info@nationalfieldhockeyleague.com to confirm the cancellation and submit documentation of the released policy from the university.
  • If the school or Club Sports Department is restricting participation of the team due to positive COVID-19 tests or exposure, and it is within the current recommended quarantine/isolation guidelines issued by the CDC and their local authority, the school’s Club Sports representative must email info@nationalfieldhockeyleague.com to confirm the cancellation and provide an explanation of the cause of withdrawal.
